What is Dental Sedation?
The type and level of sedation depends on several factors, such as anxiety amount, the extent of the treatment, and medical history. Two options we offer are nitrous oxide and oral sedation.
Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a mild, inhaled sedative that is safe for children and adults. Its effects dissipate quickly after treatment, meaning you may be able to drive yourself home or to work after your appointment.
Oral sedation is taken as a pill or liquid the night and/or morning before a treatment. It produces a more potent and lasting sedation effect. If you choose oral sedation, you should plan to have someone drive you back home after the treatment.
