With extensive continuing education courses and programs, we have become certified and adept at performing in-office oral surgery procedures. This allows us to provide a fuller catalog of options under one roof instead of offering referrals to other offices. To help patients relax during these procedures, we offer dental sedation options. We are happy to answer any questions you have about the different oral surgery procedures we provide.

Surgical Tooth Extraction

Surgical tooth extraction requires us to resect a tooth into several pieces and/or reveal an area of jawbone underneath your gum tissues to safely remove a tooth. Impacted wisdom teeth, compromised teeth roots, and extensive damage or infection are common issues that could make simple tooth extraction insufficient.

Dental Implant Placement

To place one or more dental implant posts into your jawbone, we will use advanced imaging technology, including digital panoramic X-rays, to gauge the strength of your jawbone and the optimal placement/angles for your implants. Healing usually lasts four-to-six months, after which we can secure your dental crown, dental bridge, or denture to abutments connected to the implant posts.

Jawbone Grafting

When periodontal disease becomes severe enough to lead to tooth loss, it destroys and weakens part of your jawbone. If you have been missing one or more teeth for several years or longer, then your jawbone may have grown weaker due to lack of stimulation. Patients who wish to receive dental implants to replace lost teeth must have an adequate amount of jawbone density or may require a jawbone graft before becoming eligible for implant placement.

Alveoloplasty

Alveoloplasty is the process of smoothing an area of your jawbone after a tooth has been lost or is extracted. Without the tooth root in place, the empty socket in your jawbone can leave high and low points in the bone, making it difficult to fit a dental bridge or denture in place. Smoothing the jawbone creates a level area to secure your replacement teeth more effectively.

Minor Tori Removal

In dental terms, a torus is a small, usually harmless growth of bone that can occur on the roof of the mouth, the lower jaw, or the cheek side of upper molars. Minor tori removal is a surgical procedure to remove the growth of bone, which can often help patients reduce risks of further oral health complications in the future.
