Don’t Skip Out On Dental Hygiene
One simple way to care for your smile throughout the season, and into the new year, as well, is by making sure you continue your twice daily tooth brushing. And if you aren’t already flossing at least once a day, you should make this a part of your hygiene routine, as well. Flossing removes more bacteria than brushing alone, which makes for a healthier smile in between dental cleanings.
Avoid Too Many Sweets
Another important thing to remember during the busy holiday season, is that sugar can be particularly dangerous for your smile, since the bacteria in your mouth feed on sugars. To prevent cavities, which generally require dental fillings, try to stick to healthy foods a much as possible. And if you are going to indulge in a sweet, follow up with water, which can help limit the sugar’s potential enamel damage. Then brush your teeth, as soon as possible, as well, to further protect your teeth.
